Hello, my name is Lakshita Vij, and I'm passionate about bringing affordable, accessible healthcare to everyone, at scale. My path has been very non-linear, and while it's been a steep climb, I'm enjoying the view :) So welcome to the ride!

I'm a graduate student at NYU studying Computer Science. I did my undergrad at UCLA, majoring in Economics and Cognitive Science and minoring in CS and Film & TV.

This past summer, I worked at NYU Langone and ChartR. At Langone, I developed multimodal deep learning for prostate cancer detection, fusing MRI with clinical features to reach 0.88 AUC for clinically significant cancer, with the goal of reducing unnecessary biopsies. At ChartR, I built a computer-use agent that tests a frontier AI lab's clinical decision-support model inside a working EHR, plus an LLM-as-judge pipeline validated against physician feedback on real de-identified radiology reports. Previously, I co-built Neuroscan360, a patent-pending multimodal early detection system for neurodegenerative diseases with a 23-game suite across memory, motor coordination, speech, and vision, piloted with 100 elderly participants (0.85 AUC).

I'm looking for my next role in clinical AI and ML evaluation, and I'm open to relocating. I currently live in New York City, but home growing up was split across India, China, Mauritius, and now the US, so change has been the only constant. When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, writing, going on long aimless walks, stopping by a friend's house for 15 minutes that turns into 5 hours, and, recently, surfing!
